So sorry to hear about Julia''s passing. I only had a short time with her and enjoyed being in her company. Even though her illness was present while I was with her we did have nice talks about her teaching and art. I have one book she gave me that was hers on art history which I refer to quite often. Her beautiful cursive penmanship with her name written on the front page is art in itself.

Julia was my 5th grade teacher, she retired that year and we became dear friends, pen pals for many many years. we kept in touch and she met my children and well, she held a very special place in my heart. As life went on we wrote less and less and I would always think of her at Christmas when I would hang a very special ornament Philip made for me. I cherish that and will always regret that we lost touch. I wish very much I had known she had passed as I only lived right across the street from where she now rests. I know it has been a few years but I just hope this message gets to her family, her nephew who she was close with may remember me. She was a very special teacher and a beautiful soul, I was lucky to have had her in my life ~ Nina LaFauci (DeRosa)
