My sincere condolences to the Ward family. I had the pleasure of working with Bob at the Bank of Boston and we crossed paths many times after that in various capacities. He was always the gentleman, and his ready smile and abundant optimism will be sorely missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

When I interviewed Bob for the position he would later hold as Director of International Trade he asked if I would hire and old guy. Lucky for us we got to work with Bob (who was never an "old guy") and he brought lots of great business to MA and lots of fun while doing our work. Sorry for your loss.

Bob was one of my 'best mates' at Bank of Boston. I was deeply saddened to hear of his passing. We will all miss his laugh and humor and just being a gentleman to all.

When Bob became executive director of MOITI, the office was in crisis. He improved the situation immediately, displaying a genuine affection and respect for his staff, whom he clearly considered colleagues, not subordinates. And we reciprocated the regard he showed for us. We loved the guy. My heartfelt condolences to Bob’s family.

Bob was an amiable and gentle leader of people. He was so well loved by all of us staff of Nigerian-American Merchant Bank, Nigeria (an affiliate of Bank of Boston) for his good nature and leadership as our managing director. May his gentle soul rest in peace.
