BABINEAU, Alan D. of Plymouth, formerly of Belmont, April 17, at age 54. Born May 17, 1958 to the late David H. and Ruth T. (McHugh) Babineau. Graduate of Belmont High School, Class of 1977, attended the University of New Hampshire on an athletic scholarship, playing football 1 year for the Wildcats. Alan then transferred to Sylvania Technical Institute in Waltham completing a course of studies to pursue a career in electronics. He worked at Hewlett Packard for 13 years followed by 12 years as an engineering technician at M.J. Research/BioRad and at several other positions in the field until a short time before his death. Alan was an avid sports fan and outdoorsman. He enjoyed skiing, skating, bike riding, hiking and golf. He loved his home on Micajah Pond in Plymouth and spent many hours on home improvement projects. He is survived by his sisters, Terri and Robyn Babineau, his brother David Babineau and his wife, Hope, brother, John Babineau, a loving niece, Amy DeLorenzo and loving nephew, David C. Babineau. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Alan’s visiting hours in the Short, Williamson & Diamond Funeral Home, 52 Trapelo Road, BELMONT, Monday, April 22 from 4 to 8 p.m.. His funeral will be from the funeral home on Tuesday at 8 a.m followed by a funeral Mass in St. Joseph’s Church, 130 Common St., Belmont at 9 a.m. Interment private. www.swdfuneralhome.com
