Anthony Ferraro Obituary

Ferraro, Anthony L. "Tony" of Belmont, formerly of East Cambridge, November 15, 2015. Beloved husband of Libera "Libby" (Ladetto), devoted father of Rose and her husband Dennis Fahey, Madeline and her husband Thomas McCormick and Louis and his wife Jacqueline Ferraro. Cherished grandfather of Anthony, Marc, Peter, Daniella, Brennan and Michael. Beloved son of the late Luigi and Rosaria (Ibelli) Ferraro. Loving brother of Florence Greene and the late Margaret Favazza, Anna Gardin, Evelyn Fortuna and Genevieve Lucido. Relatives and friends invited to attend Tony's visiting hours in the Short, Williamson & Diamond Funeral Home, 52 Trapelo Rd., Belmont, Monday, Nov. 23 from 4 to 8 p.m. His funeral will be from the funeral home on Tuesday at 8 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Luke's Church, 132 Lexington St., Belmont at 9 a.m. Late WWII Marine Veteran, Interment with Military Honors Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge. Most important to Tony were his family and friends. Always helping people in need with his big heart and words of advice, a constant warm smile and interested in all. He embraced family, friends and strangers. A sharp entrepreneur starting at age 7 with his own newspaper route continuing on with his many years on the Cambridge Police Department, retiring as a Sergeant and into the fuel oil business and real estate. He enjoyed traveling to Florida and Cape Cod. He made a mean Italian sauce! A treasure to us all, Tony will be sadly missed. Contributions in Tony's memory to the Perkins School for the Blind or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital would be sincerely appreciated.  www.swdfuneralhome.com
