Mr. Lukens’ was a good man who led a full life. To his family, he was affectionately known as the “Captain”. He spent many years summering on Cape Cod and enjoyed sailing, clamming, gardening, and listening to music; particularly Big band and Jazz. He was an avid cook, known widely for his Portuguese Kale Soup and Blueberry Pies. He was also a great lover of History and studied it throughout his life.
Generous and gracious, he was known to all for his ability to find the right story, song or joke for every occasion. Considered a role model by so many, his kindness, wonderful sense of humor, and mischievous grin will be missed by all who knew him. When he died, Mr. Lukens was busy preparing for his 65th Harvard Business School Reunion. And though he’ll miss it this year, his spirit will surely be in attendance for many years to come!
