DELANDIS, Dorothy (Ocnos) of Brookline, entered into rest on Friday, December 22, 2023 at home surrounded by her loving and caring family,at 101 years. Beloved wife of the late John Harold Delandis. Dear and devoted mother of Barbara Rinn and her husband, William of Winchester and Beverly Herlihy and her husband, John of Ridgewood, NJ. Sister of the late Charles Ocnos and George Ocnos and his surviving wife Dorothea.. Loving grandmother of Alexa Rinn, Colleen Doyle, Jill Herlihy, Stephanie Herlihy and Kristina Fuhrmann and loving great-grandmother of James, Catherine, Teddy and Oliver Doyle, Hannah and Abigail Hachem and Evangeline Fuhrmann. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Dorothy’s visiting hours in the Short, Williamson & Diamond Funeral Home, 52 Trapelo Road, BELMONT, Friday Dec. 29 from 5 p.m.-8 p.m. Her funeral service will be in Payson Park Church, 365 Belmont St., Belmont, Saturday, Dec. 30, 2023 at 11 a.m.

Dorothy was born on September 16, 1922.:Her father, Ignatios, who was a shoe cutter, was a naturalized American citizen, so they emigrated to Brockton, MA and later moved to Boston. She graduated from Girl’s High School in Boston and was a secretary for almost 10 years at Boston Edison. She married John Delandis on May 27, 1951 and they were married for 31 years. They had 2 daughters, Barbara (1952) and Beverly (1953). The Delandis family lived in Belmont from 1957-2012. Dorothy also worked as a Secretary at The Architects Collaborative in Cambridge, MA.
Most important to Dorothy was her personal faith in Jesus Christ. She always used to witness to individuals, especially her friends at the Hebrew Senior Life Center in Brookline, where she lived from 2012 until her death there in 2023. Dorothy was a Member of Park Street Church for over 70 years.
