ANGELO, M.D., Eda Joanne Age 89, of Washington D.C., and formerly of Cambridge, Massachusetts, died on December 12, 2025, at her home in Washington. She was born on February 11, 1936, in Cambridge, of her physician parents, Gaspar Angelo and Eda Polcari Angelo. She graduated from The Cambridge School of Weston, Mt. Holyoke College and then followed her parents to Tufts Medical School. She later did residencies in adult and child psychiatry and had a private practice in Boston for more than 40 years. She is survived by her beloved sister, Carolyn Theresa Angelo. Joanne is remembered especially for her profound devotion to God, her loving and compassionate care for her patients, and her courageous work in the pro-life movement. A child psychiatrist by profession, Joanne's life was marked by integrity, generosity, and an unwavering concern for the dignity of every human person. Those who knew her were touched by her gentle presence, moral clarity, and steadfast dedication to what she believed was right. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Ann Catholic Church in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. Visiting Hours: Burial will take place at Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on Friday, December 19, 2025, at 2:00 P.M., where she will be laid to rest. Reception following Burial.
