ACKERSON, Edmund Edwards, 79, of Belmont, MA died December 11, 2012. He is the beloved husband of 57 years of Deborah Sweeney Ackerson; devoted father of Deborah Ackerson Freedman and her husband Gary of Dallas, TX; Thomas (Buck) Sweeney Ackerson and his wife Margaret of Concord, NH; Edmund (Jay) Edwards Ackerson Jr. and his wife Kimberly of Cary, NC; Katherine (Kay) Maloney and her husband John of Essex Junction, VT; Ann Boudrot and her husband William of Billerica, MA.  He is also survived by his sister Rhoda Weyr Kaplan and her husband Fred of Boothbay, ME.; 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He was born June 10th, 1933 in Lima Peru to the late Garret G. Ackerson Jr. and the late Rhodita Ellen Edwards.  Edmund served in the U.S. Army from 1952 to 1954 as a Military Policeman stationed in Korea.  He graduated from Georgetown University in 1958 and from Harvard Law School in 1961.  Funeral from the Short, Williamson & Diamond Funeral Home,  52 Trapelo Road, BELMONT, Saturday, Dec. 15 at 9:30 a.m.  Funeral Mass in St. Joseph’s Church, 130 Common St., Belmont, at 10:30 a.m.  Relatives and friend may call at the funeral home, Friday from 6-8 p.m.  Burial services will be private.
