Girardo "Jerry" Gerolamo

GEROLAMO, Girardo “Jerry” of Belmont, May 26. Devoted husband of the late Concetta J. (Sullo) Gerolamo.  Cherished father of George P. Gerolamo and his late wife, Marianne (Flynn) of Belmont and Gerard Gerolamo and his wife, Donna (Fredericks) of Oak Bluffs, Martha’s Vineyard.   Born January 26, 1920 in East Boston to Antonio and Assunta Gerolamo. Proudly served in the U. S. Army Air Corps during W W II in the Pacific Theater. Enjoyed working at the M.I.T. Plasma Fusion Center in Cambridge, MA for forty years. Retired in April 2011 at the age of 91.  Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Jerry’s visiting hours in the Short, Williamson & Diamond Funeral Home,  52 Trapelo Road, BELMONT, Friday, May 30  from 5-8  p.m. His  funeral will be from the funeral home on Saturday at 8 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Joseph’s Church, 130 Common St.,  Belmont, at 9 o’clock.  Interment with military honors will be in the Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in Girardo’s memory to the Sancta Maria Nursing Facility, 799 Concord Ave., Cambridge, MA 02138,  would be sincerely appreciated.  www.swdfuneralhome.com
