POLLI, Herman A., 87, of Waltham, formerly of Belmont, entered into eternal rest on New Year's Day, January 1, 2018 in the Neville Center at Fresh Pond. He was born and raised in Somerville and lived in Belmont for many years before settling in Waltham these last few years. He was a knife grinder by profession. Beloved husband of Evelyn (Collini) for over 60 years. Loving father of Dianna Aaron of Salisbury and Eric Polli of Boston. Loving Nonno of Jacob Freiman-Polli. Son of the late Achille and Silvia (Maganzini) Polli. Brother of Olga Rowan of FL and the late Anne Harrington, Alma DiFabio, Arthur and Remo Polli. Herman is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Herman’s visiting hours in the Short, Williamson & Diamond Funeral Home, 52 Trapelo Road, BELMONT, Friday, Jan. 5, from 4-8 p.m. His funeral will be from the funeral home on Saturday at 8 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Joseph’s Church, 130 Common St. Belmont, at 9 a.m., with Military Honors.
