James R. Maguire

MAGUIRE, James R. of Belmont, entered into rest on Saturday, January 31, 2015 in the Marist Hill Nursing Center in Waltham.  He was 98 years of age.  Born in Belmont, James was a lifelong resident.  He was retired from the Bank of Boston where he worked as a custodian for over 45 years.  Beloved husband of the late Margaret G. (Cotter) for over 73 years.  Dear and devoted father of Patricia A. Bassett and her husband, Ralph of Burlington, James R. Maguire, Jr. and his wife, Martha of Belmont, Kathleen Humora and her husband, Michael of Cranbury, NJ and the late Joan M. Maguire. Brother of Dorothy O’Rouke of Cambridge. Loving grandfather of David R. Flewelling, Kimberly McGowan, Syraida Cozier, Matthew Humora, Kathryn Humora and the late Stephen J. Flewelling and 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral from Short, Williamson & Diamond Funeral Home,  52 Trapelo Road, BELMONT, Thursday, Feb. 5 at 8 a.m.  Funeral Mass in St. Luke’s Church, 132 Lexington St. Belmont, at 9 a.m.  Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home, Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. Interment Belmont Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in James’ memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472 would be sincerely appreciated.
