Jane A. Hovnanian, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 9th at the age of 88.
Born in Brighton, MA on February 25, 1938 to the late John Ward and Elizabeth (Noah) Ward, Jane will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She was a kind and caring person who always put the needs of her family before her own. Jane was a woman of strong faith who nurtured within her children a deep love of God and a devotion to family. She brought warmth to everything she did and leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion.
Jane’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her immense joy and were the light of her life. She loved each of them dearly and never forgot their birthdays. Jane was a friend to all and had a way of connecting easily with everyone she met. She will be remembered for her sweet and cheerful disposition and gentle spirit.
Jane is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Joseph; children Linda (Paul) Buckley, Donna (Jeff) Evangelista, Steven (Jen) Hovnanian and Gail (Joe) Carchedi; grandchildren Kayla, Michael, Brian, Nina, Jonathan, John Paul, Arlena, Mark, Jacob, Peter, Andrew and Ayla and 9 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Jane was predeceased by her brothers Michael, George, Bill, Paul and Charles. Jane also leaves behind many adored nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visiting hours will be on Friday, March 13th from 9:15 – 10:30 AM at Short, Williamson & Diamond Funeral Home at 52 Trapelo Road, Belmont, MA. A funeral mass will follow at Holy Cross Armenian Catholic Church at 200 Lexington Street, Belmont, MA, at 11AM. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Winchester, MA.
