John J. Mahoney

MAHONEY, John J. of Charlestown, formerly of Belmont, entered into rest on Thursday, October 16, 2014 in the Marion Manor  in South Boston, Massachusetts.  He was 89 years of age.  Born in Cambridge, John lived in Belmont for many years.  He was in sales, retiring from the telephone company.   Husband of the late Barbara T. (Sheehan). Dear and devoted father of Lawrence of Charlestown, Elizabeth Frongello of Weston, FL, Patricia of Needham, Jane of Dover and Sheila O’Connor and her husband, Jack of Carlisle.   Brother of the late Gertrude O’Donnell, Margaret, Lawrence David and Dorothy Mahoney.  Loving grandfather of Elizabeth Frongello, Jane, Annie and Katherine O’Connor.  Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend John’s funeral from the Short, Williamson & Diamond Funeral Home,  52 Trapelo Road, BELMONT, Tuesday,  Oct. 21 at 10   a.m.  followed by a funeral Mass in St. Joseph’s Church, 130 Common St., Belmont, at 11  o’clock. Late U.S. Marine veteran of WW II and the Korean Conflict.
