Of Belmont, June 9, 2013. Loving wife of 47 years of Prof. Paul A. Vatter, devoted mother of Katharine Foucault and her husband Olivier of Neuilly-sur-Seine, France and proud grandmother of Olivier and Katharine's four children, Paul, Marie, Julia, and Owen. Beloved sister of Yvette Schleifer of Boston. Josette was born in Paris. She and her sister enjoyed a long career as a duo-piano team, performing with major symphony orchestras in the US and throughout Europe. Josette and Paul had a country house in Ussel, in southern France, where they spent many happy summers. Funeral services will be private. A memorial service for friends and family will take place later in the summer.
