Judith Amanda Layzer

Layzer, Judith Amanda, of Somerville, MA.  Died on May 27, 2015 at 53 years of age, quietly at her home in Somerville, MA.  Dear daughter of David and Jean Layzer, much-loved sister of Carolyn, Nicholas and Jonathan Layzer and Emily Sherwood.  A faculty member of MIT’s Department of Urban Studies and Planning since 2003, Judy was a prolific writer, a passionate advocate for environmental causes and social justice, and a dedicated teacher. Interment will be private. A memorial ceremony will be held in the fall on a date to be announced.  Donations in her memory may be made to the Grub Street Writing Center (https://www.grubstreet.org).
