Mary R. (DiGiovanni) DeStefano

DeStefano, Mary R. (DiGiovanni) of Belmont,  entered into eternal rest unexpectedly  on Thursday, April 5, 2018 in the Mt. Auburn Hospital.  She was 84 years old.  Mary was born in Belmont and remained a lifelong resident of Belmont her entire life.  She was a strong willed woman who instilled in her children and grandchildren the same family values that she was brought up with, living in a large Italian household.  A beautiful and loving Mother, Mary maintained a meticulous household and was a sumptuous and talented cook who had great culinary skills.  She enjoyed bowling, tennis and painting.   Beloved wife of the late Joseph J. DeStefano.  Dear and devoted mother of Mary F. Sloane and her husband, Joseph, Joseph G. DeStefano and his wife, Sarah and James R. DeStefano and his wife, Tammy  all of Belmont.  Sister of Silvio DiGiovanni, Rocco DiGiovanni and Anna Maguire all of Belmont, Anthony DiGiovanni of Lexington, and the late Louis, Vincent, Joseph, Charles and Gaetano “Guy” DiGiovanni. Loving Nani of Mollie and Caitlyn Sloane, Joseph “Jojo”, Caroline and Camille DeStefano.  Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Mary’s funeral Mass in St. Joseph’s Church, 130 Common St., Belmont, Thursday, April 12 at 9 o’clock.
