Nicholas “Nick” Pizzi, of Belmont, departed this world to be with his beloved wife Santina on August 5, 2018. To all who knew him, he was a kind, caring, loving father and friend. He was a family-first kind of person, who always put other people’s needs before his own. He graduated from Belmont High School where he remained a lifelong resident. Nick was in World War II, stationed in Paris France, where he was a cartographer for the United States Army. He later became a skilled design engineer after graduating from Northeastern University. Some of his many projects included designing Apollo spacesuits, the Levi Strauss pocket maker, and other medical items. He was a gifted carpenter and loved working with his hands. He loved his wife, family and home deeply. After retiring from his professional career, he spent the next 30 years working alongside his brother, Michael Pizzi who passed on 7/18/2018, in the family’s real estate business in Boston. He enjoyed tending to his garden, watching politics and old-westerns on television, and listening to Big Band era music. He is survived by his beloved daughter Janet Pizzi and Robert Oriani of Waltham, son Nicholas Pizzi, Jr. and his wife Nancy of Belmont, his granddaughter Andrea Pizzi, nieces and nephews, and his friend Ralph Moccia of Belmont. He will be forever remembered, forever loved, and forever cherished for the gifts of love, strength and courage he has given. May he rest in peace. Services will be held privately for immediate family.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Nick's memory to the Italian Home for Children , 1125 Centre Street, Boston, MA 02130-3495, would be sincerely appreciated.
