McGRATH, Patrick A. “Paddy” ,90, of North Bennington,Vermont, formerly of Belmont, MA, entered into rest on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 in the Albany Medical Center in Albany, New York, after a brief illness. Born in Shanagarry, Co. Cork, Ireland. Beloved husband of the late Catherine Kerry (Hennessy). Dear and devoted father of Michael McGrath and his wife, Wendy of San Jose, CA; Ann (McGrath) DeCiccio and her husband, Albert of North Bennington, VT and Tyngsboro, MA; and Janet McGrath of Marshfield, MA. Cherished grandfather of Liam Breslin of Tyngsboro and Dennis Breslin and his fiance’, Victoria Hatfield of Hudson, NH and step-grandfather of Abby DeCiccio of Boston and Aaron DeCiccio of Tyngsboro. Predeceased by his father, Michael and his mother, Margaret (Budds); his five brothers, John, Michael, Tom, Eugene of Ireland and James of New Zealand. Dearly loved by his many nieces and nephews around the world and honored by his extended family and friends. Paddy was a Flight Lieutenant and radio operator for the Royal Air Force during World War II and through 1954. Employed by R.W. LeBaron in Waltham, MA until his retirement. Lifetime member of the British Officers’ Club of New England and a long-time member of the Retired Men’s Club of Belmont. Enjoyed tennis, swimming and watching Bruins and Red Sox games with his family. An avid reader, in later years Paddy walked daily to the Belmont Public Library and to the North Bennington, VT, McCullough Free Library.
