Ralph Edwin Melanson, Jr.

MELANSON, Ralph E. Jr. of Belmont, entered into rest on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at his home in Belmont.  He was 88 years of age.  Born in Belmont, Ralph was lifelong resident and was  a carpenter by profession.  He attended Boston University.  Ralph was an avid hunter and fisherman.  Husband of the late Marie U. (Morra) Melanson.  Dear and devoted father of Ralph E. Melanson, III and his wife, Charlotte of Grafton, Lee Ann Perry and her husband, Ronald of Townsend and the late Deborah Melanson, Susan Melanson and Lynne Garber.  Brother of the late Delby C. Melanson.  Loving grandfather of Ralph E. Melanson, IV, John Paul Melanson, Anne Marie Melanson, Kayla Perry, Kimberly Perry, Kyle Perry, Nikki Comeau and the late Robert Comeau and great-grandfather of Garrett Comeau-Gentile.  Ralph is also survived by his best friend, his dog, Holly.  Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Ralph’s visiting hours in the Short, Williamson & Diamond Funeral Home,  52 Trapelo Road, BELMONT, Friday, June 28 from 4-8 p.m. His  funeral will be from the funeral home on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Joseph’s Church, 130 Common St., Belmont, at 10:30 a.m.  In lieu of flowers,  contributions in Ralph’s memory to the American Driving Society, Scholarship Fund, P.O. 278, Cross Plains, Wisconsin 53528  would be sincerely appreciated.
