HARVEY, Regina “Jean” M. (Ahern) of Belmont, entered into rest on Friday, October 7, 2011 at home, surrounded by her loving family. She was 89 years of age. Born in Arlington, Jean had been a longtime resident of Belmont. She was a retired school teacher having taught in Arlington High School as well as the Belmont and Lexington school systems. Beloved wife of James E. Harvey for over 59 years. Dear and devoted mother of James E. Harvey, Jr. and his wife, Mary of Belmont, John Harvey of Norcross, GA, Thomas Harvey of Belmont, Kathleen Rugg and her husband, Paul of Northborough and Paul Harvey of Somerville. Loving grandmother of Kathryn Mackintosh and her husband, Brian, James M. Harvey, Joseph H. Harvey, Michael P. Rugg and Caroline M. Rugg and great-grandmother of Mary Mackintosh. Funeral from the Short, Williamson & Diamond Funeral Home, 52 Trapelo Road, BELMONT, Wednesday, Oct. 12 at 8 a.m. Funeral Mass in St. Joseph’s Church, 130 Common St., Belmont, at 9 o’clock. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday 4-8 p.m. Interment Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Arlington. Late member of Salem State University Alumni Association and the Lexington Golf Club.
