GROSS, Stephen H. of Belmont, entered into eternal rest on Friday, June 27, 2025 in the Belmont Manor Nursing Center. He was 86 years old. Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Stephen lived in Belmont for many years. A former Jesuit, Stephen worked for and retired from Care Dimensions Hospice as a Hospice Chaplain. This is a profession that only a select few, through a special calling, are able to help those in hospice. Through the power of prayer, Steve was able to console those in the hospice program, giving them hope throughout their illness.
Stephen was the dear son of the late Jacob Gross and Betty Hartrich; the beloved husband of Donna Campbell Gross for over 34 years; the dear and devoted father of Abigail Cohen and her husband, Andrew of Brooklyn, NY and David Gross and his wife, Katie of Brooklyn; the loving grandfather of Ruby Cohen, Sebastian Cohen, Oliver Gross and Fiona Gross; the devoted brother of Betsy O'Neal, Mary Louise Bick, Jane Wadler and Nicholas Gross.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Stephen's visiting hours in the Short, Williamson & Diamond Funeral Home, 52 Trapelo Road, BELMONT, Tuesday, July 1, 2025 from 4 p.m.-7 p.m. His funeral service will be on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 in the All Saints' Episcopal Church, 17 Clark St., Corner of Common St., Belmont, at 1 p.m. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Stephen's memory to Care Dimensions Hospice, 75 Sylvan St., Ste. B-102, Danvers, MA 01923 would be sincerely appreciated. www.swdfuneralhome.com
