William E. Gorman

GORMAN, William E., lifelong resident of Belmont, entered into rest on Thursday, December 29, 2016 in the Mt. Auburn Hospital in Cambridge.  He was 78 years old.  He was born in Cambridge.  Bill worked for over 40 years as a salesman for Mark's Wholesale Firm.  He graduated from Burdett College with an Associates Degree. Bill was a life member of the Belmont Lions Club and could always be found devoting countless hours at the Lions Club, decorating Christmas wreaths during the Christmas Tree and wreath selling season. He was a former member of St. Joseph Church Holy Name Society in Belmont. Beloved son of the late John T. and Nora Ann (Burke) Gorman.  Dear and devoted brother of  Atty. Robert Gorman of Arlington, Judith Hanley of Medford and the late Atty. John T. Gorman, Jr. and his surviving wife, Mary of Arlington.  Loving uncle of Erin Gorman of Boston, Colleen Gorman of Arlington, Maureen Flynn of Winchester, Sean Gorman of Arlington and Daniel Hanley and his wife, Michelle of Tewksbury and great uncle of 4 great nephews..  Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Bill’s visiting hours in the Short, Williamson & Diamond Funeral Home,  52 Trapelo Rd. BELMONT, Wednesday, Jan. 4 from 3-7 p.m.  His funeral will be from the funeral home on Thursday at 8:15 a.m.  followed by a funeral Mass in St. Raphael’s Church, 512 High St., Medford at 9:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in William’s memory to the Mt.
