William Schoenheiter Obituary

SCHOENHEITER, William J.  of  Arlington, entered into rest at home on Saturday, December 21, 2013, in his 101st year. He was born in Dorchester, raised in South Boston and a graduate of South Boston High School, Class of 1931.  He also attended Bentley University. William was a resident of Arlington since 1956.  Husband  of the late Eleanor L. (Jordan) Schoenheiter.  Father of Philip K. Schoenheiter of Arlington.  Brother of the late Helen A. Johnson.  Uncle of  George Johnson and his wife, Linda of Huntley, IL, Paul Johnson and his wife, Lorraine of Greensboro, NC and Gary Johnson and his wife, Betty of Richmond, VA.  Also survived by other nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and nephews and great-grand nieces and nephews.  Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend William’s visiting hours in the Short, Williamson & Diamond Funeral Home,  52 Trapelo Road, BELMONT, Thursday,  Dec. 26 from 3-5 p.m.  His funeral service will be in the funeral home on Friday at 10  a.m.  Interment  Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Cambridge.  Late 46 year employee of the Boston Herald Traveler and Boston Herald, starting out as an office boy in 1931  and retiring as head cashier/paymaster and a 68 year member of the Park Street Church of Boston.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in William’s memory to the Park Street Church,  Missions Fund,  One Park St., Boston, MA 02108, would be sincerely appreciated.  www.swdfuneralhome.com
